so I can listen to books while exercising.

I am so grateful.

TIME!

I love having some time;

it's such a great blessing.

Sometimes, even though I am retired, I feel so overwhelmed with:

Things to do,
Places to go,
People to help,
Stuff that must be done.

So, having some time is a great blessing.

And, I am very grateful.

The Gift of Hearing

I listened to some new songs yesterday on a CD Kristi gave us.

It was so pleasant and I enjoyed them.

I love music; I love the sound of children's laughter; the sound of birds in the early mornings.

It's such a blessing to be able to HEAR...

And, I am grateful.

Happy Chinese New Year; it's the year of the Horse.

And, we were invited to attend a party....

such good conversation...

good Chinese food (with an American flair)

and good reminders of people we have met in years gone by.

David and Julie Monson; she's a fun one!

Henry and Kay Miner; he is one of the truly happiest persons I have ever known.  A truly cheerful countenance and good to the bone; Kay is an incredibly talented artist; she will be having an art show at the local museum in Sept.  They ROCK!

I am grateful.

A Kind Husband

I just read an horrific story about a woman who told her friends she was frightened of her husband.

It became obvious that she had reason to be;

he killed her, their two children, his mother-in-law, and then himself.

My heart aches for women who FeAR their husbands.

It's beyond tragic and terrible.

Allen is a KIND person.

And, I am grateful.

Good Dramas on Television

I'm watching a series from the BBC called Little Dorrit by Dickens;

it's wonderfully written and portrayed.

I wish there were more like this;

no sex, violence, or bad language.

Just intriguing plot and interesting characters.

No one does it quite like Dickens.

And, I am grateful.

Hearing

I was listening to some music today;

I am so grateful to be able to do that.

Recently, I heard some birds; a sure sign of spring coming...such a pleasant sound indeed.

I can hear the washing machine doing its thing...it's working hard.

I can hear the soft sound of the keys as I type.

So many sounds, so much JOY.

What a blessing; to be able to hear.

Oh, yes, I am grateful.

An Income

It's not POTSA money,

but it's very adequate.

And, for that, I am eternally grateful.

Computers

How did we get along without them?

I received a text late last night, but only saw it this morning.

At any rate, it was from Jenni, then one from Kristi.

It's instant, helpful, necessary.

I am so grateful for computers.

A Warm Home

While serving our mission last year, we would meet people who were homeless and living totally outside, or who lived in their cars.

It's something I cannot even imagine...truly.

I look around my home, with its lovely rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and I am beyond grateful.

Thank you, Heavenly Father.

New box for Christmas;

Eyesight and Hearing

I can never be thankful enough for these two amazing abilities.

Oh, yes, indeed, I am grateful.

Maids

Well, not actually maids, per se.

But, 3 ladies who came and cleaned my home yesterday.

It was so awesome.

My home is sparkly clean.

And, I love it.  I don't want to eat, snack, walk on the carpets, have anyone over, etc.

It's just awesome.  Our kids gave it to us as a gift...what a gift.

And, I am grateful.

Thoughtful Children

Our kids are so great, so thoughtful.

And, I am beyond grateful.

Learning...

I am taking two classes;

One on WORD; the other on MAC computers.

It's FUN to learn.  It's good of people to share their knowledge.

And, I am grateful.

Arms and Legs

Oh my goodness,

I can't imagine life without limbs.

And, I am beyond grateful.

Living in St George

Nearly 1/3 of the country is having
HORRID,
WRETCHED,
TERRIBLE
cold weather.

And, yes, it's a tad chilly here in SG, but NOTHING like in the East, North, etc.

And, oh yes, I am so grateful.

Katie and Cindy

Well, it's just us three women in there now.

There used to be two men, but now Dave and Ryan are gone...as well as Lori.

I'm very sad.  I think it's good to have at least one man in there.  Sometimes, the kids will go to a man where they aren't that interested in women.

Ryan would sit on the floor and build the blocks with them.  He was just quiet and the boys would sometimes go over and sit beside him and build with him.

Dave was fun, loud, but the little girls loved to be held by him.  He would rock them and play with the boys.

Lori ran a tight ship; which I loved and appreciated.  No snack time until the end, but yesterday, Katie and Cindy started handing out the goodies when the troops got restless.  Which is okay, I guess.

At any rate, there is definitely a different feel, fewer kids, which is great, and I will be so grateful to work with Cindy and Katie...both fun, outspoken, reliable.

I am grateful.

My Husband

I've said it before; will say it again.

I'm very grateful for Allen.

Medicines!

Just got a flu shot; 2 people have died from the flu in Utah alone.  SO it's good we got a shot.

I have a terrible cold; took some cold medicine; oh, yes, that's good and will help me feel better to do my church job today and tomorrow.

I'm grateful for modern medicine.

Connections Made Through the Internet

Growing up, I was not close to my cousins; they lived far away, were different ages than I, didn't have much in common; on and on.

But, with the advent of the Internet, all that has changed.

And, I have connected with two cousins in particular.

I am so grateful for them and being connected.

It is such a blessing and I am grateful.

Ease of Getting Food

I love food; this morning, I've been munching on crackers out of the box...

it was easy, handy (not very healthy), but it's definitely something the pioneers would have

LOVED to have.....instant food.

And, an abundance of it.

I love food.

And, I'm grateful to have it so readily available.
