Connectivity

So, here we are in the teeny town of Manila, Utah.

Population about 900.

It's remote; internet is slow.

BUT, it works, and we can stay connected using our devices;

Phone, computer, tablet, etc.

And, I am grateful.

Food and the Ease of Preparation

I am often reminded how accessible our food supply is.

I don't have to cook over a wood stove.

I don't have to go out and kill the chicken, then pluck its feathers.

I'm not even growing and harvesting food any more.

I just buy the food.

And, maybe quickly prepare it.

And, I am grateful.

And, it reminds me how grateful I am for what i have.

Allen Being Such a Handy MAN!

Right now, he's trying to fix the toilet in our camper!

And, he likely will.

Oh, he's such a handy MAN!

And, for that, I'm very grateful!

Seeing Colors

I've never really thought about it, but yesterday my cousin, Margo mentioned that her son-in-law is color blind.

He wanted to fly his own plane, but can't because of his color blindness.

Man, it suddenly made me so appreciative of seeing

COLORS!

And, I am grateful!

Electricity

Man, I take it for granted....

But, I could not be more grateful.

Ah, yes, I'm thankful for electricity.

My Cousin, Margo

There were only three girl Gee cousins.

About every other year or so, we see Mel and Margo.

I love her happy disposition, her happy smile, her positive personality.

It's a joy for me to be with them.

And, I am grateful.

Peace for Now

Many places in the world are at war.

I hate war (and cancer,)

But, WAR is HELL.

No one  ever ever wins.

Lives shattered, towns destroyed, men and women coming home disfigured, and scarred for life - emotionally, physically, and psychologically.

War is about selfishness and greed and power.

At this exact moment in my life, I am in a peaceful setting, in a peaceful place, with mostly peace in my soul.

And, I am grateful.

Rhubarb Desserts

Since being in Manila, Utah, two people have given us Rhubarb desserts.

Janeil Larsen andher granddaughter made the most delicious rhubarb pie EVER!  Man, it was tasty.

Last night, Mikayla brought over a rhubarb, blueberry crumble; so very tasty.......

And, I am grateful.

Electricity

I take it for granted.

I forget how marvelous it is to have electricity.

And, I am very grateful.

The People We Meet in Manilla

We meet some interesting people while we stay in the KOA campground in Manilla.

And, I am grateful.

Days With Nothing to Do

Well, that's really not correct.  I have a to-do list and all.

But, what I mean is that I don't have to be anywhere, go anywhere, meet up with anyone.

And, some days that is just fine with me.

And, I am grateful.

A Little Down Time

June was crazy busy.

Lots of things happening and going on.

So, here I am at Manila, Utah with a little down time.

And, I am grateful.

The Stories and Lives of People

It's so fun to get acquainted with people and to hear their stories.

I've said this before, but everyone has a story to tell; most people don't listen or are not interested, but Allen and I love to hear the stories of other people.

The world is filled with amazing people who will share their stories.

And, I am grateful.

Allen's Commitment to the Gospel

All around us faithful people are giving up on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

It's so confusing, distressing, and sorrowful.

And that makes me appreciate even more the fact that Allen remains steady and strong.

We go to church when we are traveling and it's fun to meet the Saints all over.

Oh, yes, I am very grateful.

Family Get Togethers

We are the picture of a modern family:

An avowed Atheist,

Staunch Democrats,

Republican Leanings,

Gay Person,

Divorce,

2nd Marriages,

Inactive Church members,

Step children,

Happy people,

Grouchy People,

Lots of kids,

But, in spite of it all;

it's just FUN to be together!

Jordan and Family left before we got the picture taken....Lots of laughter on this night!  But, where's Jeremy?

And, I am grateful!

Toast With Jam

Bagels,

Home-made Wheat bread,

Raisin bread,

English muffins,

all with a little bit of jam.

And, I am thankful.
