My Calling in the Nursery

I love going to the nursery;

It's such a happy place to be.

The little kids are delightful and beautiful.

Oh, yes, I am grateful.

Music

It thrills my soul.

I'm so glad Allen is gifted in music....his music fills our home and my life.

I'm very grateful.

Good Books

I love to read.

Oh, yes.

I love a captivating story, a good plot, rich deep characters.

I'm grateful for the library, for Amazon, for used bookstores.

The library in Kansas City; what a fantastic building front for a library.

I love to read (or listen to) a good book.

And, I am grateful.

TIME

I love having some time to work on projects, church stuff, family stuff, etc.

It's a great blessing because there's always so much to do.  Sometimes I feel like I'm running out of time.

T.I.M.E.

I'm grateful for it.

Learning New Things

Every Wednesday, I listen and watch Marie; she's interesting and unique.

She's never married, was a school librarian, and she knows her stuff.

Her stuff is WORD.

And, she imparts it to us.

I'm trying to learn, but oh, remembering is the challenge.

It's fun to learn the program.

I'm grateful.

My MacIntosh Computer

Every day that I use it, I'm so thankful I have it.

At first, I was hesitant to get it; it was sooooo much $$$$$$.

But, I enjoy it very much.

I probably shouldn't be so thrilled over a worldly thing,  (I do use for it for doing family history), but I do like me some fancy MacIntosh computer!

Oh, yes, I'm grateful.

Freedom!

I'm listening to a book right now about an even in Iran in 1979.

What happened is quite unbelievable, actually.

But, it reminds me of how very precious freedom is.

And, I am so very grateful.

Church Calling

I love serving in the nursery.

It's such a great place to serve.

I'm grateful.

Email/Internet Communication

When I work on family history, I occasionally find correspondence written by her to relatives.

That process was long and tedious.

Now, we communicate by email which is fast and efficient.

Additionally, we have Google/Facebook to help us locate people

And, I am grateful for these modern methods of communication.

Moments of Happiness

I went to visit the neighbors to see Bethany's science project a couple of days ago.

There are four children (one is a young baby) in the family.  When I asked them to show me the project, the three children eagerly ran outside to demonstrate how it works.

It was just such a happy moment to share in their enthusiasm and glee.

Little children are so spontaneous and delightful.

Then Bethany and her mother sang for me from Frozen.  It was just fun.

I am grateful for moments like that.

Our Home

I love our home..

And, I'm always grateful.

A Car

I recently heard of a woman who had her driver's license taken away because of her age....

My heart aches for her because she lives alone and it's how she got around to do things.

I realize that I am thankful to have a car and still be able to drive at this point in my life.

I am grateful.

My Two Daughters

Man, I have awesome daughters.

And, I am grateful.

Books on Tape

Driving around town running errands,

Walking five miles to a DVD,

Exercising at the gym..

They are all places where I listen intently to audio books.

It makes it all go faster and makes it more enjoyable.

And, I am grateful.

TIME!

We've been busy....

Friends for a week....

Family for a weekend.

Now, there's some

TIME.

Calder Merrill Hackworth

It's been a blessing to be with our grandchildren.

Especially Calder, who is just three weeks old...

We've had a great time, even though they have been sick.

They were so helpful to us in China, and it's been so great to have them with us here in Utah.

Tiny Little Miracles

O is finally getting baptized

S is going to be baptized.

It's amazing, but I'm grateful.

Oh my, the trees are exploding!

It's just such a wonderful time of the year.

Mornings

I'm definitely a morning person; it's when I get things done;
laundry,
dusting,
vacuuming,
computer stuff,
letter writing,
toilets cleaned,
just STUFF.

I wake up too early.

But, for early mornings, I am grateful.

My friend, Slyvia

Sylvia told me last night that her beloved husband, Frank, has been gone for ten years; he was a wonderful caregiver to her.

She has been in a wheelchair for over 20 years, in the nursing home for 2 and 1/2 years and my friend for 8 years.

It's always a blessing to visit that dear lady who is innocent, free of guile, pleasant, sincere, and good.

I am very grateful.

TECHNOLOGY!

I've been scanning and then putting pictures into family search...it's time consuming and fun.

And, I'm grateful for the tools to help with it all.
