While traveling in the Middle East, I was exhausted.
Worn out.
Completely.
And, so I said to myself - I just want to be by myself, hunker down by myself, and not interact with anyone for a few weeks.
HA HA HA HA, said God. Not possible.
While on our trip, I received a text from Nicole asking if her family could stay with us for three days.
Well, how could I say NO, even tho I had just resolved to not let anyone bother me?
Wednesday, I had intended to go to the temple, but late in the afternoon, I conceded to Satan that he had indeed won that round, but I couldn't let him win, so I went.
On Thursday, I had to go visit Donna C because I am her minister and I had a little gift for her from Israel. We chatted for about an hour on her lovely front porch.
Came home to be with the Gomez family for dinner and to read to their children and interact with them. Brent and Jenni showed up later in the evening to share in the food and fun.
Susie texted to ask if I would drive Christina to work at 5:30. Well, of course, I can't turn that down, so I showed up at 5:30 am to take her to work, but it's supposed to be at 5:30 p.m. I goofed on that one.
Peggy called to see if I would take dinner to Hannah because she just had a new baby. How could I say NO to that request?
Stephanie, that most dear of all people, wants us to come for dinner on Sunday night.
Brent & Jenni need a ride home from their colonoscopy on Monday morning, so I could NEVER say no to them.
And, my brothers and their wives are all coming in on Wednesday night for several days.
Bart called to ask if we could feed the sister missionaries on Sunday night, so, of course, we will do that! No refusing the missionaries.
I can just hear God laughing right about now!
And, I suppose I'm grateful that he will not let me be weary in well doing!
